In these impassioned books, Pediatric Thanatologist Emilio Parga, M.A., charts the complex emotional waters every family must navigate in the wake of death. Written from his personal experiences and through the children and teens at The Solace Tree, these books are an invaluable tool for parents, educators, clergy, children and teens and those who care for them.
It's wonderful to see a resource like The Solace Tree develop to serve the needs of grieving children, adolescents and families in the Reno area. Addressing the issues these families face after a death will prevent many problems down the road.
Donna L. Schuurman, Ed.D., FT
Executive Director - The Dougy Center
The National Center for Grieving Children & Families Portland, OR
The Solace Tree programming and philosophies are a testament to the good work that is being done in this country to make sure that children and teens have a safe place to share and connect around their losses. I hope that people and professionals from all walks can use this work to make a step toward creating more healing Mecca's for young people.
Alesia Alexander-Garrison
Program Director - Kate's Club Atlanta, GA
