Book Description

Kids Can Cope is an activity book from children for children who are living with change and loss. Written by Solace Tree Founder Emilio Parga, the book features more than 60 pages of text offering numerous opportunities for children to describe what is happening, write down their questions, draw pictures, identify sources of help and engage in other activities to help them cope. In addition, a four page glossary explains a long list of terms that may be puzzling to children.

Reviews

It’s wonderful to see a resource like The Solace Tree develop to serve the needs of grieving children, adolescents and families in the Reno area. Addressing the issues these families face after a death will prevent many problems down the road. Donna L. Schuurman, Ed.D., FT Executive Director – The Dougy Center The National Center for Grieving Children & Families Portland, OR

The Solace Tree programming and philosophies are a testament to the good work that is being done in this country to make sure that children and teens have a safe place to share and connect around their losses. I hope that people and professionals from all walks can use this work to make a step toward creating more healing Mecca’s for young people. Alesia Alexander-Garrison Program Director – Kate’s Club Atlanta, GA
