The Fade Away In My Life

A revealing story as told by an eight-year-old who now lives with her dad and grandma.

In my life I had a sadness. It all started when my mom ran away and we could not find her. We organized a search party with the cops.

On Wednesday the cops came to our door and told my dad that we found your wife in an orchard and I heard. I started crying before my dad had even told me.

My dad and I moved from Chico to Reno. I felt depressed because I had to move. I packed up my stuff. When I got to Reno, it was snowing in chico for the very first time in my life of course. I didn’t get to see it. Then a week later it snowed in Reno and I got to see that.

On April 24 I’m going to spread my mom’s ashes. We’re going to spread them up above Chico at Deer Creek.

It’s now April 29th and I have spread my mom’s ashes.

My mom is standing right by me.

I have returned to Reno and I go to Brown School. I have made some new friend. We ride the bus together and spend time after school going door to door chores for neighbors to raise money.

We wanted to buy a pool. After a few days we earned enough to go get a pool! The pool got dirty so we have to clean it before we go in it again.

Crystal and I like to spend the night at each others house.

Sometimes I hate Reno. Sometimes I love Reno.

Hey guys, yes, I am the author of this book, my name is Charis White and I am now 13 years old. I no longer live with my grandma, I live with my dad.

I hope you enjoy this book and I know how it feels to lose a loved one, I was 8 when my mom committed suicide. I can tell you its hard to deal with the loss; and not to mention all those couselers who say they know how you feel and THEY DONT!, that really bugs me.

I have been attending The Solace Tree for almost 5 years. Let me tell you this Solace Tree is a lot of help; they are always their for you and the fact of being able to talk to other kids who have really gone through it.

I just wanted to say thank you so much to Emilio for this wonderful program and helping me through my suicide attempts i love you!!

Thank you to all your wonderful volunteers for caring so much especialy Juli,Tammi and Carmel.

I will be writing another book also, and its still a short story, but its about my life after my mothers death.
